After a not so good start to the 2008 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts have locked in a spot in the playoffs as the fifth wild card.

The Colts started the season with a little bit to worry about. Peyton Manning’s knee surgery had a lot people worried about how this season was going to play out. Peyton and the Colts knew that he would be able to start the regular season. However, Peyton was more upset with the fact that he did not get to participate in training camp nor any of the preseason games.

The Colts did in fact get off to a not so good start due to a few other key players that were on the injury reserve list as well. The Colts started the season with a 3-4 record. Things were not looking to good for the Colts. After a week 8 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Colts had finally got it together. Players got healthy, Peyton was getting more mobile and him and his receivers were starting to get on the same page again.

With the Colts in last place in their division, they knew what had to be done to save the season. The Colts had to finish the season winning all the rest of the games. This started an awesome 9 game winning streak with the season ending with a blow out handed to the Tennessee Titans.

Let the playoffs begin!

With the Colts winning the top wild card spot, they will first have to travel through San Diego on their road to the Super Bowl. If the Colts beat the Chargers, they will then have to go to Tennessee for the third game against them this season.

With all that said, I’m watching, waiting and rooting for the Colts to win their second Super Bowl. Go Colts!
