What does the Nexus One look like? It looks good. It looks a little like an iPhone but with a trackball. The screen takes up 95 percent of the front of the phone. There is no manual keyboard and the phone is 4.68 inches tall and .45 inches thick. It will go into a large pocket. It is 2.35 inches wide. In millimeters that is 119 tall by 59.8 wide by 11.5. It also resembles the HTC phone ( no surprise there ) called the “Hero”. You can only get it from Google.

On the inside you have the extremely popular Android platform. It just did come out with multitouch ability but this phone came out last month without it. If you buy this phone you will need to make the update to get the multitouch feature. The Nexus One comes with version 2.1 so it should be an easy upgrade. The Android app idea has taken off like a rocket. There are new apps being made as if this were the last smartphone to be made in the world. Iphone and Apple have more apps by virture of being in the game longer, but you usually have to pay more for them. That is a great downer in a recession ( depression ?) climate. The android system allows video and remote wipes. What is a remote wipe? It is the ability to eliminate all your personal and other information from the Nexus One from a distance. If your smartphone is lost or stolen this can keep you safe.

This smartphone comes with a great screen. It uses the new technology called AMOLED. This is no longer using LCDs to make it work. It is brighter but also uses less energy. Your battery will last longer, thanks to this AMOLED screen. It is a glorious 480 by 800 pixels for resolution. This beats many screens out there for clarity and quality. You could call this “high definition” viewing. When you touch the screen for navigation it is easy to get around. Buy this phone just for the screen and you will probably be happy.

The guts of the Nexus One are top notch. You have a 1000 megahertz processor made by Snapdragon. This allows you to sail through your programs with speed. There is 512 megabytes of RAM and the same amount of ROM. The Google phone comes with a four gigabyte MicroSD card pre-installed. You can boost that card up to 32 gigabytes for truckloads of memory space for anything, including videos. The battery is of an average size at 1400 mAh.
The camera can pump out five megapixel shots. It has auto focus, LED flash, geo tagging and smile detection. Yes, it knows when you are smiling or not. The video part of the camera is just average. It can take video at twenty frames per second.

At the moment the Nexus One is supported by the T-Mobile network. It is having a bit of a problem with tech support, but that should go away. It is rumored to also be coming to Verizon where it will no doubt bloom rapidly. This phone is available in one color, bronze. Let´s hope that changes too. If you like the Android, this is a good phone. If you do not like Android, the Nexus One is still a good phone, but not much is different.

The first thing that you have to do is to open the program. Also before we start, make sure that you have blank DVD’s around the house. You are going to be sending these DVD’s to the people who you want to see the nice presentation. So make sure that you have a couple just laying around. Now that we are sure that we have blank DVD’s, hit the start button and click on Windows DVD Maker. The first thing that will happen is a big menu will pop up. This menu will show you the process of transferring movies and pictures files into a DVD presentation. Just hit the choose button at the bottom and go to the next screen. The next screen asks you to choose the actual items that you want to place in the DVD file. Go to wherever you saved the pictures at and start to place them on the screen.

Once you have selected all of the pictures that you are going to want to place on the DVD, now it is time to make the menu. The software allows you to select between a lot of different option when it comes to the look of the menu. Play around with the settings and then decide which one you would like to choose. You can also change the default text that is there to something customized. If you also choose to, you can customize the text for each DVD that you burn. This will allow you to make a customize message for each person who is supposed to receive a copy of the DVD. But keep in mind, this will take you a little bit longer since you will have to go into the DVD text menu after each copy is burned to a DVD disk. Now choose the slide show selection and pick the music that you want to go along with the pictures while they scroll on the TV screen. You can also pick how long each picture shows up on the screen. After you have selected the menu color, the slide show options, and the text, it is now time to make a copy of the Slide Show. Hit the burn button and your DVD Slide Show will start to transfer over to the blank DVD that you set aside earlier. Now it is ready to ship the DVD to your grandmother or other family members.

Windows 7 makes it easy to make a great presentation out of the photos that you took. The people that you send it to will love that you put in the extra effort to make it enjoyable.

The first option to make sure you have tight control over your music library is Apple’s Itunes software. This is of course the lead pick since it is the natural software to user for anyone with an IPod or IPhone. Those being the two most popular digital music players around, makes this an obvious choice. Last but not least, well maybe by a small margin, we have Windows Media player. The one advantage that it has in managing your music files, is the integration with the rest of the Windows explorer folders. You can use the explorer commands to be able to place a file inside of your Windows media library. This makes control your media library very convenient. The interface is a little bit confusing and not as clean as the other two but adding files to the library is the cleanest of all three.

So we have given you the best three options that will let you manage your music library on Windows 7. Whatever you decide, if you pick one of the three on this list, you will surely enjoy your experience.

Before we go much further, we will list this caveat. If you want the full multimedia experience, you should upgrade some of the hardware on your computer. Just as if you would buy the best speakers for your stereo system, you should do the same for your computer. But these are not necessary to enjoy your computer as an entertainment center. It just makes the experience that much better.

For music, there are a lot of options that you can use, to be able to play your play list around the house. If you have Windows 7, you can use Microsoft Windows Media Player. What was once a poor option, has grown into a robust player that will meet at least 99% of your needs. If you own an iPod or iPhone, then you might want to use iTunes as your default music player. With it’s ability to interface better with these devices, there is no other software that can match it. There are a couple of third party software vendors that come close to giving you the full music experience as these two dol. One of the top options is Winamp. This player has been around a long time and is still really useful as an easy to use music player. It also has the ability to access the very good, AOL online radio stations from all around the country.

If you are looking for DVD software, then again Windows Media Player and iTunes will do everything that you need. But, they are not considered the best option when it comes to this endeavor. There are a lot more players that people would choose over these two. The first one that comes to mind is the VLC player. It plays both digital and DVD files and in a number of formats that the others don’t. VLC has one of the largest pre-installed codec libraries out of all of the software that is available. So if you run into a video file that says you can not run it because you do not have the proper codec, then try it on VLC. Most likely you will be able to play it.

The iPhone 3G was available with built in memory of either 8GB or 16GB, depending on the model, which was probably enough for just about most things. But with the iPhone 3GS Apple has added another model to its collection which has a massive 32GB of memory, this makes the new addition brilliant for storing things such as Movie’s and many other large files. However, this does come at a price.

Apple has also improved the quality of the camera with the release of the new iPhone 3GS taking it from 2 Megapixels in the iPhone 3G to 3 Megapixels in the new 3GS. They have also added a variety of features including Autofocus and the eagerly awaited Video recording. The new autofocus feature makes the photos taken with the iPhone 3GS much more clear and crisp that with its predecessor and is a much needed addition to the iPhone in order to keep up with its rival competitors. The video quality of the iPhone 3GS is extremely good considering it is still only a 3 Megapixel camera, the video seems to run very smoothly and the sound isn’t bad either. Overall I think Apple has done an excellent job with its camera update.

The new iPhone 3GS comes with a few new features built in. Apple has worked hard to make the new iPhone 3GS work as fast as possible and as a result Apple claim that it is up to twice as fast as the 3G, and from the tests I’ve done, I don’t think they’re far wrong. The performance lives up to what Apple claims and makes simple tasks such as reading Email and browsing the web much quicker and more pleasurable. Another big addition with the 3GS is the Voice Control feature, the idea being that you can control almost everything from simply telling your iPhone what you want, including making calls, playing music and much more. Now, you might think that this sounds like a recipe for disaster but somehow Apple seems to have pulled it off, the voice control very rarely gets it wrong and makes using the new iPhone even easier than ever. Apple has also added a Compass app which comes with the iPhone, which may not seem like something you would really need that often. Nonetheless it is a nice feature and works very well.

Although not by a great deal, Apple has also increased the battery life with the iPhone 3GS raising talk time from 10 hours to 12 hours compared with the 3G, although this is only the case when using a 2G connection speed. They have also increased the battery life when using the internet from 6 hours on Wi-Fi with the 3G to 9 hours with the 3GS and video playback from 7 hours to 10 hours. Although these aren’t such big changes, it is still a nice addition and shows that the folks at Apple are doing their very best to tweak and perfect the iPhone. It also means it can spend more time in your hand and less time charging.

Now, onto the price, the 16GB version of the 3GS is available on a 2 year contract with AT&T in the US for $199 with a monthly payment plan of $30. The 32GB version is slightly higher costing $299 with the same payment plan available from AT&T. For the quality of the phone you are getting I don’t think this price is too high and I think you will be happy with what Apple has achieved with the 3GS. Should you buy one? That’s up to you.

First thing you want to do is check the opening your door is going in to make sure you have a big enough opening. The opening needs to be 2 inches bigger than the door itself, an inch and a half for the thickness of the doors frame (3/4 of an inch on each side) and a half inch extra so you can make adjustments. There for a 32 inch door would require a 34 inch opening.

Un-package your door and place the door into the opening keeping mind which way you want the door to swing. Center the door in the opening and also flush up the outside of the doors frame with the drywall.

Put a 2 foot level on the floor where the door sits and make sure the legs of the doors frame are level. You can also check this by placing your 2 foot level on top of the doors frame however if the wood is bowed a little bit it will be hard to get it perfect. If one side is higher, shim up the other side to make them level with each other.

Now place shims around the doors frame. Four shims down each side spread out evenly will do. On the hinge side be sure to put shims close to the hinges because this is where you’re going to put your nails. On the knob side, be sure to put one of your shims behind where the latch will go.

Starting on the hinge side, push the door frame tight to your shims. Check the frame with your 6 foot level and adjust your shims accordingly. Now drive one of your casing nails through the frame putting one by every hinge and driving through your shims. DO NOT sink your nails all the way. You will do this later with the nail set and you might need to remove them to make adjustments later.

Now that one side is hung close the door and tighten the shims on the other side. Be sure to use the level and make adjustments accordingly. Before you nail this side close the door and look at the small gap between the door and the frame on the hinge side. It’s a little smaller than a quarter inch. You want to make sure that gap is the same all the way around the door. Raise and lower the frame to adjust the gap above the door and adjust your shims to the side.

Once your gap has the same reveal all the way around, make sure your door is still flush with the drywall and nail it off. Again make sure you do not sink the nails all the way.

Now open and close the door and make sure the door is swinging good and not rubbing. Go ahead and install the door knob to make sure it lines up right and latches correctly. If everything looks good you can go ahead and sink the nails with the nail set and fill the holes with caulk. If you need to make any adjustments you can pull the nails and make them as needed. If you pull the nails out use one of the shims between your hammer and whatever you’re prying on so you don’t damage the wood. If you can’t pull the nails you can use a reciprocating saw between the doors frame and the wall studs to free the door.

Jacksonville was the first on the board with a field goal but their lead was very short lived. Addai got the Colts on the board first with a short -4 yard run. A couple drives later Reggie Wayne increased the lead with an excellent catch down the left side.

Coming out in the third quarter the Colts seemed to lose it a little during half time. Colts started the second half with a decent drive that ended with yet another fumble. The Jags run the ball down the field for a touchdown to come within 3 points. The Jags decided to try and tie the game going for 2 but the Colts put the stop on that.

With just a little over five minutes left on the clock it seemed like an easy win for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. A few running plays, a pass or 2 here-n-there to mix things up, and the Colts were on their way down the field. It seemed the Colts would win this one easy until the Jags put up a decent stop to take over the ball just a little passed mid field.

This didn’t worry the Colts, me, now that’s a different story. I must admit, I was a little worried. A week one win against a division team would definitely mean a lot especially with the Titans losing their first game also, so this game was definitely an important one.

I’m really excited to see what the Colts can do this year. Hopefully with a new head coach, some new players picked up in the draft and most of our players healthy this year I think the Colts really have a good chance this year.
